Women in Jazz presents “Encore Performances” by Kellye Gray, Pamela Hart and Carmen Bradford with Opening Act American Idol Contestant Dana Clark!
This outstanding show will be held Saturday September 6, 2003, 7:30 PM at the Paramount Theatre, 713 Congress, Austin, TX—One show only! All of these singers are back by popular demand.
Kellye Gray was featured in the June 2002 Women in Jazz Concert, wooing a sold out crowd with jazz standards, accompanied by the Pamela York Trio of Houston, Texas. USA Today says Kellye Gray is, “Simply one of the most exciting jazz singers.”
You can’t forget Pamela Hart last May 2003 performing in Blue Gardenia: A Tribute to Billie Holiday. We were taken aback by Pamela’s beautiful tone. She took the audience’s breath away with “Strange Fruit.” ….and those dresses!
Carmen Bradford was the featured vocalist in the October 1996 Women in Jazz Concert. Showcased with her own band, including pianist Shelley Berg, bassist Andy Simpkins and drummer Randy Drake, the former Count Basie Band singer showed Austin her maturity and wonderful personal style.
Austin will hear again its number one American Idol Contestant as Women in Jazz presents Dana Clark. She has been singing in various clubs around town with the Thomas Hughes band and All You Need.
Kellye Gray will be accompanied by the Pamela York Trio, while Dana Clark, Pamela Hart, and Carmen Bradford will be accompanied by the James Polk Quartet.
If you have ever attended any Women in Jazz Concert or heard Kellye Gray, Pamela Hart or Carmen Bradford before, you know you are in for an outstanding evening. Women in Jazz is the same organization that brought you Dianne Reeves and Nancy Wilson. Now we bring back the best of Women in Jazz in “Encore Performances.” If you want to feel nostalgic or just feel emotions you’ve never felt before, you don’t want to miss this show!
