BIO Information

Pamela Hart – Vocalist

Known as “Austin’s First Lady of Jazz,” Pamela Hart is a celebrated vocalist and passionate advocate for jazz education. As co-founder of the Women in Jazz Association, Inc., she has helped shape the Austin jazz scene through performances, workshops, and youth programs. A 2018 Austin Jazz Society Hall of Fame inductee and 2023 Black Music Awards –Houston winner for Best Jazz Performer, Pamela’s graceful style and soulful voice have graced stages across the U.S. and Europe. Her latest album, Happy Talk, showcases her timeless artistry and love for the genre.

 

 

Yansa Samada – Flutist

A classically trained flutist and vocalist, Yansa Samada blends the rich rhythms of her Cuban heritage with the soul of jazz. Her global journey—from Russia to Cairo to Abu Dhabi—hasshaped her unique sound, fusing Afro-Cuban textures with jazz improvisation. Back by popular demand, Yansa brings vibrant energy, cultural depth, and international flair to the 2025 Women in Jazz Concert.

 

 

 

Joe Carmouche – Guitarist

Joe Carmouche Houston native Joe Carmoucheis a celebrated jazz guitarist known for his soulful blend of jazz, R&B, and smooth grooves. A product of the legendary Kashmere Stage Band and the Summer Jazz Workshop, Joe’s early career was shaped by Houston jazz icons like Conrad “Prof” Johnson and Bubbha Thomas. Over the years, he’s opened for jazz greats like Joe Sample and Boney James and led popular bands across the region. With several acclaimed albums to his name, Joe continues to inspire as both a performer and music educator.

 

 

 

Kyle Turner – Saxophonist

Kyle Turner Houston-bornsaxophonist Kyle Turneris known for his smooth, soulful sound and dynamic stage presence. A protégé of jazz legends like Arnett Cobb and Kirk Whalum, Kyle has shared the stage with greats including Luther Vandross, Al Jarreau, and Tower of Power. Beyond performance, he is a dedicated jazz educator and advocate, having taught at Westbury High School and served as Artist-in-Residence at Texas Southern University. A fan favorite, Kyle returns for his eighth consecutive year with the Women in Jazz Concert Series. His latest album, Kyle Turner Live and More, is available now.
